Russell “Rusty” James Hall, 53, passed away on September 18, 2024, in Memphis, TN at Baptist East Memorial Hospital. Born on August 11, 1971, in Chambersburg, PA and raised in Maryville, TN, Russell attended Maryville High School and later furthered his education at Tennessee Tech University with a degree in Computer Science.
Russell was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, and uncle. The highlight of his life was his family and his love for tennis. Russell was the type of person who was goofy yet could provoke a thoughtful discussion in the same conversation. He had a passion for jazz music, great food before and after as a vegan, saw his nieces and nephews as his own; loved the outdoors, great cinema, road trips, gaming on the XBox, and above all, spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Van Hall; his daughter, Vina Hall; his brother, Gregory Scott Hall (Nena); mother-in-law, Nga Tien; brother and sister-in-laws, Hong Lien Le (Kim), Liem Le (Hoang), Kelly Quach (Van), Minh Le; nieces and nephews, Cameron Hall, Kelvin Nguyen (Chandler), Lilian Nguyen, Angelina Le, Michelle Le, Alex Le, Steven Quach (Mary Shea), Kristina Quach (Nathan), Brandon Quach; great niece and nephew, Jane Nguyen and Benjamin Quach. Russell was preceded in death by his mother, Francis Dee Arnold Hall, his father, Seth James Hall, and his son, Clayton Le Hall.
A gathering of family and friends of Russell James Hall will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral service will begin at 10AM and burial to follow at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
