A lifelong Memphian, Robert was born on February 24, 1937 to the late Jeff & Louise Mynatt. He graduated from Catholic High School in 1955. He worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. for 44 years and was an Army veteran.
He was a lifelong Catholic who was active in the Our Lady of Sorrows Parish. Most notably coaching youth basketball, winning multiple Parochial Athletic Association girl's championships. He enjoyed serving in the OLS Men's Club and various other volunteer activities in service to the Parish.
Robert was an avid Memphis Tigers fan and a longtime season ticket holder in both men's football and basketball. But his favorite sports were watching anything that involved his children and grandchildren!
Along with his parents, Mr. Mynatt was preceded in death by his brother & sister-in-law, James Carl & Jo Ann Mynatt.
Mr. Mynatt is survived by his wife of 63 years Dr. Sarah L. Mynatt; his children Linda (Tony) Gibbs, Neal Mynatt and Mary (Kevin) Mynatt; grandchildren Robert (Olivia) Gibbs, Tonya Gibbs and John Gibbs, Josephine Landeryou and Georgia Landeryou; great-grandchildren Deaton Gibbs and Maxwell Gibbs; and his sister Barbara Hamm.
Family and friends will gather on Friday, November 15 beginning at nine o'clock in the morning until funeral services begin at ten o'clock all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133.
The family suggests any memorial's in Robert's honor please be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
