Mary Warren was born 3rd September 1923 to Bernice Williams (1903-1998, Ft Smith, AR area) and Hollis Pate (1898-1991, Dyer County, TN). Mary met and married Roy Warren (a Navy Veteran) after World War II and celebrated 53 years of marriage before he passed away in 2002. Together they raised two daughters, Brenda (Joseph) Veerhusen and Lisa (Robin) Hailey and four grandchildren, Bill A Graham, Victoria “Pepper” Veerhusen, Jamie Hailey and Regina Veerhusen (Nick) Burkhart and two great-Grandchildren. She went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on 28th December, 2023 and her physical body will be laid to rest at the Memorial Gardens & Memphis Funeral Home, N. Germantown Rd., Friday, 5th January, 2024 with viewing at 9 AM and service at 10 AM.
Mary Warren was blessed to see her 100th Birthday celebrated by many friends, family and church loved ones. Mary worked various jobs over her lifetime from legal secretary, church secretary to Executive Secretary, retiring from the IRS District Office on Democrat Road at 72 years old. Mary was a member of the Park Ave. Church of Christ. She could claim Huguenot, Revolution, and Colonial linages. She supported Parkinson research and the family asks for donations to Mid-South Parkinson Support Group & Foundation, 1512 Pine Shadows Dr., Memphis, TN 38120 in lieu of flowers.
Mary Warren joins her parents and siblings, Janice Pate Pace, Thomas Nelson Pate, youngest daughter, Lisa Warren Hailey and beloved husband, Roy H Warren at home in heaven. She is survived by daughter, Brenda Warren Veerhusen, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren many nieces, nephews, and loved friends.
