Jovie Leigh Jones was born on Thursday, August 3, 2023 in Memphis, Tennessee. Jovie passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2023. In her short life she was deeply loved and prayed for by many family and friends all over the world. Jovie is forever loved by her parents Jonathan and Kacie Jones, big sister Jacie, grandparents Ron and Doris Jones of Vonore, Tennessee and Leonard and Cindy Gallman of Cowpens, South Carolina, great-grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and many others.
Though we may not understand why her life was so short, we rest in knowing that the Lord’s plans are perfect. Many lives have been touched because of sweet Jovie Leigh Jones. We pray that the Lord would continue to be honored and glorified by her life as her story is shared. We grieve, but not as those who have no hope. We believe that Jesus came to defeat sin and death by living a perfect life, dying on the cross, and rising again three days later. We have hope that those who repent and believe the gospel will be with the Lord as Jovie is.
Her family was blessed to have ten days with their precious little girl. While in the NICU, Jonathan, Kacie, and Jacie enjoyed talking to Jovie, holding her hand, singing worship songs, and reading some of big sister’s favorite books. Though they were not able to take her home, they brought all of their love to her. On Sunday, family members were finally able to hold Jovie as she passed from their arms into the loving arms of Jesus.
A visitation for Jovie will be held Monday, August 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, followed by a graveside service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
