Joseph Howard “Jay” Kuhl, Jr., 70, of Cordova, passed away at his home on Friday, January 21, 2011. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, retired building inspector with Shelby County Code Enforcement, was on the board of the Cordova Community Center, member of Cordova Presbyterian Church and was an avid beekeeper and enjoyed spending leisure time sailing. Mr. Kuhl, the husband of Donna Kuhl, also leaves three daughters, Jody Kuhl of Baton Rouge, LA, Corey Morgan (Scott) of Cordova and Shelly Kuhl of Memphis; a son, Kevin Kuhl (Lisa Marie) of Cordova; two sisters, Leanne Less (Tony) of Clifton, VA and Gerrie Sampietro (John) of Sikeston, MO; grandchildren, Ellis and Reid Morgan. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Howard “Jerry” Kuhl, III. The family will receive friends this evening, Sunday, January 23 from 5-7 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. A memorial service will be at Cordova Presbyterian Church, 8707 Fay Rd., on Monday, January 24 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Cordova Cemetery.
