Jerry Wayne Tolley, passed away on December 21, 2024 at the age of 83. He was born on July 4, 1941 in Decatur County to Leo and Mary Opal Tolley, both of whom proceeded him in death. He leaves behind his precious sister, Sharon Gail Bradley.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Brenda Tolley: his three daughters, Dena Lee (Mike) of Murfreesboro TN, Stephanie Garner (Chris) of Bartlett TN and Kelli Tolley (Jim Barnes) of Bartlett TN. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Jerry was a graduate of Messick High School. He then served his country in the army where he was honorably discharged with E5 Rank. He attended University of Tennessee and then had a lifelong career as a Commercial Project Manager.
Jerry met the love of his life Brenda and they married in 1965. He committed his life to Christ at the age of 27, establishing a firm foundation for their family centered in Jesus! His salvation was purposeful as he led his family assuring that through our Savior He will supply every need through Christ Jesus. He told us that as a sinner deserving rejection, Christ revealed His great love to him. The Lord saved him, he was bought with price and made joint heir to Christ's mercy and love.
Jerry was a gentleman in every sense of the word and he demonstrated unwavering devotion to his wife and family. All that knew him experienced his sweet spirit and love of the Lord. Jerry’s Christian legacy of love, character and kindness will live on in the hearts of family and friends. Throughout his health struggle, Brenda cared for him, demonstrating the grace of a Proverbs 31 woman. His passing leaves a void in our hearts but we are blessed to know that he is with our Savior, Jesus. It brings us comfort to know that one day we will be together with him in eternity.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations made to Samaritan’s purse or Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.
