He was born to the late Print and Ruby Maroney on May 22, 1944 in Medon, Tennessee. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Charles McKeehan; his brothers, Harold Maroney, Boyd Maroney, Ellis Maroney, Gerald Maroney, Troy Maroney, Benny Maroney; and his sister, Shanna Hamilton.
Henry first started his career at Western Electric in Memphis and eventually moved on to AT&T where he was soon promoted to National Service Manager for AT&T at Federal Express. He continued working for them until his retirement. He remained retired a short time and decided to return to Hilton where he worked in IT for another 10 years. Henry was an active member of Bellevue Baptist Church for 44 years and loved hearing sermons of the late Dr. Adrian Rogers. His passion for the country and the woods remained with him from his childhood so he loved to return there to hunt, ride his four wheeler and just enjoy nature.
Henry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Maroney; his children, Debbie Delones (David), Brenda Stewart, Julie Mattox Crawford; grandchildren, Emily McKeehan, Charlene Barrasso, Zackery Crawford, Devin Crawford, Darren Hargrow, Dylon Hargrow; 11 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sue Norment.
Memorials may by made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Henry’s honor.
Family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 5 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. Services will follow at 2:00pm.
