Faye Parker, age 94, passed into her eternal home on January 3rd with her grandsons by her side. The oldest of four sisters, she was born in Alamo, TN to James Leon Puckett and Eunice Hodge Puckett on November 30th, 1926. She met her husband, Raymond Richard Parker, in Memphis while he was stationed at the Millington Naval Base and they were married on February 9th, 1947 in Hernando, MS. While Ray was stationed in San Diego, CA, they had their only child, Stephen Ray Parker, in January of 1951. After moving back to Memphis, she worked at Sears Crosstown for over twenty years in the mail order offices. She and her family were devout members of both Wells Station Baptist Church and Ellendale Baptist Church. She loved gardening and was still growing flowers and vegetables at her home last summer. She was an avid walker, sometimes logging over 1,000 miles annually. She and Ray loved to travel the country with her XYZ (X-tra Years of Zest) Club at Ellendale. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, and her son. Her pride and joy were her two grandsons and three great-grandchildren, John Bradley Parker (Brandy) and their son Gavin, and Jeffrey Thomas Parker (Deborah) and their daughters Aniston and Presley. She is survived by all three of her sisters, Peggy Chandler, Sarah Lapham (Marvin), Alice Alred, and many nieces and nephews. We will make sure that your great-grandchildren do not forget you… we promise! Services are tentatively scheduled for 2:00pm on Saturday, January 16th at the Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 3700 N. Germantown Pkwy. in Bartlett with visitation preceding. She would have loved any donations that you would like to make to go to Ellendale Baptist Church, 3861 Broadway Rd., Bartlett, TN 38135.
