He was born to the late Alfred and Helen Meier on August 18, 1937 in Highmore, South Dakota. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life Marlene Meier. Edward owned Wolf River Motors from 1976 until 2009. He was also very involved at Victory Auto Sales. Ed loved airplanes. You could always find him working on an airplane or in the hangar with his friends. He retired after serving in the United States Navy after 20 years.
Edward is survived by his children, Mike Meier (Tracey), Mitch Meier (Laurie), Tammi Ware, Tom Meier, and Karl Meier (Jennifer); grandchildren, Jamie Mays (Josh), Jay Ware (Angie), Josh Meier (Kristen), Annie Meier (Paige), Paige Holmes (Chase), Jacob Meier (Erin), Alyssa Meier, Andrew Meier, Garrett Meier, Zachary Meier; great-grandchildren, Colton Mays, Hadley Holmes, Anabelle Ware, Nolan Holmes, Michaela Meier, Olivia Ware, Benjamin Meier, Grafton Meier, Fiona Meier, and Sloane Meier; his brothers, Greg Meier, Jack Meier, Jay Meier, and his sister, Susan Conner.
Family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Thursday, August 31 at New Hope Christian Church 3300 Kirby Whitten Rd, Bartlett, TN. Services will follow at 11:00am. Interment will be at a later date at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN.
