David Rhea Davis Jr., age 81, of Heber Springs, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. David was born in Memphis, TN to the late Anna H. Davis and David Rhea Davis, Sr. Straight out of high school, he went on the join the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He went on to marry the love of his life, Mrs. Judy Turner Davis on February 19th, 1973. David was an entrepreneur and had a family owned business with his brother.
His hobbies included Fishing, playing cards with his family, spending time with friends, and making sure he spoiled his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Paul Davis, and his granddaughter, Laurine Isabelle Abernathy.
He is survived by his wife Judy Davis of 50 years, Son, David Rhea Davis lll, his daughter Ashley Davis Abernathy; his Grandchildren, Brittany Davidson (Andrew Cole Davidson), Coleman South Abernathy, Davis Rowe Abernathy; his Great Grandchildren-Madelyn Klare Burk, Chanley Nicole Davidson; siblings- Maureen D Salabor, Larry E Davis (Wanda Davis), Brenda D Dunn (John Dunn); great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation for David will be held Monday, October 2, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133). A funeral service will occur Monday, October 2, 2023 beginning at 2:00 PM. The graveside service will follow.
