On Thursday, December 19, 2024, after a 15-year battle with cancer, Dale Ware, met his Lord face to face. Dale embraced a warrior spirit and was the “toughest of the tough" as he lived with and fought cancer. He certainly fought the good fight.
Following his education at Frayser High School in Memphis, TN., Dale joined the Army, where he proudly served in Grenada as part of the 82nd Airborne Division. After he was honorably discharged from the US Army, Dale returned to Memphis and pursued his career with Delta Metals.
In 2001, Dale married the love of his life, Sheree Boatner and they spent their years loving and enjoying life together with their children and grandchildren. Dale was known for his great sense of humor, his love for his family and for his Lord and was a member of West Memorial Baptist Church in Saulsbury, TN. He enjoyed his hobbies; Dale was an avid drummer and he loved deer hunting with his sons, Chris and Justin. He was an amazing dad to Laura and was proud to call her his daughter. His face would light up when his granddaughters, Alaina and Sarah walked into the room. Dale wanted and prayed for only the best for those he loved. As a testament to his faith, his favorite scripture was Mark11:24: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Orene Ware and his grandparents. Dale is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sheree Boatner Ware; his two sons, Christopher Ware and his wife, Sarah; Justin Ware; his daughter, Laura Jones and her husband, Jeremy; grandchildren, Alaina and Sarah. Dale is also survived by his two sisters, Wendy Bryson and her husband, Bruce; Linda Bowen and her husband, Dan. Dale also leaves several nieces and nephews. Lastly, Dale was preceded in death by his beloved German Shepherd, Micah.
The family would like to express a very special thank you to Dale's Hospice Nurses for their wonderful and compassionate care of Dale. We thank Donna Brinkley for her hands on involvement with Sheree in planning the celebration of Dale's life. A special thanks also to our extended family and neighbor, Kat, along with her children, Cameron, Kaydee, Izabella and Liz for their strong presence and support to our family. Dale loved them dearly, as do we all. Please remember the family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this difficult time. Dale will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
For those who wish to acknowledge Dale in a way other than flowers, please consider a donation in Dale's memory to West Cancer Center.
A time of gathering for friends and family will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31 until a Celebration Of Life begins at 2:00 p.m. all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. Immediately following entombment will be in the Eagle Mausoleum at Memory Hill Gardens.
