He is survived by his loving, faithful wife of 65 years, Barbara Ann Wiseman and his three sons Mark, Gary, and Brian and one daughter Lisa, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Two sisters Lois and Mary and one nephew Keith.
Ed Wiseman is predeceased in death by his father Charles Ed Wiseman, Sr., mother Lucille Blake Wiseman and his brother David “Meatball” Wiseman.
Ed served in the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division 1953-1955 stationed in Germany and served in Kentucky Air National Guard from 1952-1958 as a jet engineer mechanic and left as a Staff Sergeant.
In 1966 he went to work for Nu-Sash Windows and Doors and moved up the chain to regional director, supervising 4 offices in the state of Florida. In 1968 he moved to Memphis, TN and bought a Nu-Sash franchise. He was President and CEO of Nu-Sash Window and Doors which later became Home Right Services. Ed was very active in the Memphis community and was involved in many associations and clubs including VFW, American Legion, Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau, Junior Achievement, and Shelby Oaks Optimist Club. Around 1998 he joined the Knights of Columbus and worked his way up to become a Knight in the 4th Degree where he served for over 25 years.
He was the BEST planner, host, organizer of every trip, party, holiday and every occasion. He loved Christmas planning, being Santa Claus and spoiling all the grandchildren. One of the biggest occasions was a family reunion trip 25 years ago where the entire family rented a bus and road together to Louisville, KY.
The family requests that memorial be made in Charles E. Wiseman's name to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
A visitation for Charles will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 12:00 PM at St. Ann Catholic Church, 6529 Stage Rd, Bartlett, TN 38134. A committal service will occur Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
