Catherine A. Ginther, age 76 passed away from brain cancer in her home in Oakland, TN surrounded by her husband and best friend, Butch, her son Kevin, daughter Leslie and her sweet dog Molly on Sunday, May 20, 2018. She was born on June 14, 1941 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Leonard and Frances (Hahn) Leible and grew up in Chaffee Missouri. She is survived by 4 sisters; Rose Ryan, Mary Hooker, Ellen Lane and Carol Blanchard and two brothers, Leonard C Leible Jr and Tommy Leible. Cathy married Jerry Smith at the age of 18 and together they had two children Kevin (Gina) and Leslie Smith (David) Zarshenas. She was a devote Catholic and continually practiced her faith throughout her life. Before retiring Cathy was a real estate broker and ran her own company and held the position of President of the Board of Realtors. In 1993 she married love of her life, John (Butch) Ginther and they began what became known as her "Big Adventure". The love they shared the last 25 years was more than most people have in a lifetime. The addition of their Shih Tzu Molly completed their family. Cathy was a devoted wife, mother, step mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She lovingly taught us how to live by faith, shared family recipes, she was notorious for her organizational skills and always insisted that we "Make It A Great Day!" She is survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Family and Friends will gather at the Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Bartlett, TN on Tuesday, May 22 for Visitation from 5:00- 8:00 followed by a Rosary service. A Funeral Mass will take place Wednesday, May 23 at 1:00 pm at St. Ann Parish in Bartlett, TN.
