Casey Kania, 90, of Bartlett, passed away March 24, 2015. Casey served in the Navy during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign and the Korean Conflict; he retired after serving his country for 23 years. In later years, he was a realtor for approximately 20 years. Casey enjoyed watersports, being in the sun, and loved his grandkids. He was very social, loved people, and was a well known and loved resident of Ave Maria Assisted Living for 10 years. Casey was married to Katy Kania for 48 years before her passing in 2005. They had three children, Angela Steffan (Mike), Stan Kania (Dana), and Malecia Kurtz (Jim). He was a proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren, Michael (Danielle), Emily (Jarratt), Katherine, Matthew, Casey, Sarah, Hannah, Abi, Ben, and Noah. There will be a visitation on Monday, March 30 from 5-7 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett. The funeral mass will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 6529 Stage Road, Bartlett on Tuesday, March 31 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Forever Young Sr. Veterans, PO Box 1381, Collierville, TN 38027.
