Billy E. Gaetano, 87, of Memphis, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018. He was born in Memphis and was a 1948 graduate of Christian Brothers High School. Later he served in the Army during the Korean War.
Before his retirement, he worked for thirty-eight years as a Warehouse Manager for Haverty’s Furniture Company in various cities including Memphis, Dallas, and Atlanta. After his retirement, he continued to serve the company travelling for them as a Warehouse Consultant.
For years after retirement, he volunteered alongside his wife Patsy serving at CareNet Crisis Pregnancy Center, St. Vincent DePaul, the Help Center, and Meals on Wheels in Dickson, TN until his move back to Memphis due to his wife’s declining health. He was married for 60 years to the love of his life, Patsy (Roberston) Gaetano and served her until her death due to complications from Alzheimers.
He was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1977. A kind, humorous, and lively man, his confidence was in Christ, and he lived out his faith before men.
