Mrs. Betty Frances Wade Potts, age 91, passed from this life to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Shelby Gardens Place in Cordova Tennessee. Betty was born February 18, 1931 in Quito, MS. Betty was an avid gardener, especially roses and her many flower beds. She was a past member of the Dixie Rose Society.
Well into her 80’s, she competed in the Senior Olympics winning many medals. She enjoyed bowling and her 90th birthday was celebrated at the bowling alley with her friends and teammates. She coached youth bowling and was a leader for Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She was a long time member of Bartlett Hills Baptist Church, formerly Raleigh Baptist Church where she was part of BHBC’S Love Packages mission team, WMU and Golden Circle. Betty enjoyed sewing and quilting and traveling to various parts of the country with her church friends. She was an avid reader. Well into her 80's she exercised at the Millington YMCA. She had an very close relationship with her sisters, Bobbie and Della.
She was a housewife and mother and had worked at Coleman Elementary School, the IRS and retired from the Shelby County Election Commission.
She is survived by her daughter Kay Creager and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Q. Potts, grandson LCPL Timothy Ryan Creager, USMC and parents William Joseph and Ruby Howard Wade, brothers William Melvin Wade and Abraham Lacey Wade, sisters Bobbie Jo White and Della Louise Wages

A visitation for Betty will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. A committal will follow in Memorial Gardens
