Born in Richmond, Virginia, Bill was the son of William Randolph Dawson and Frances Williams Dawson Reams. Bill is survived by Sandra, his wife of 50 years; two children, Samantha Simpkins of Barstow and James Dawson (Crystal) of Quitman, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Mikayla, Andrew, Serena, Rune, and Danielle; 4 siblings Pamala Phipps (Dale) of Bumpas, Virginia, Tamara Kaleta (Bob)of Powhatan, Virginia, Diane Houff of Midlothian, Virginia, and Harvey Reams of Powhatan, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father(Randolph), mother (Frances), paternal ( Munford and Mary Thompson) and maternal (Wilson and Pearl Williams) grandparents and 2 uncles, James and Lewis.
Bill began his career with Army Air Force Exchange Services in 1975 eventually becoming Business Services Manager, a position he held until his retirement in June, 2006. His career moved him from Arkansas, to Texas, Alabama, California, Louisiana, and Washington D.C. until he returned to California following retirement. Bill also spent one year in his position for troops serving in Bosnia.
Bill requested no formal services and will be cremated. If you wish to honor his memory do so by contributing to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
