Vivian Rochelle Smarr

Vivian Rochelle Smarr, age 62, of Helendale, CA, passed away on Thursday, September 26th, 2024. Born to Martha Christine and Walter E. Crockett Sr., the 12th of their 16 children, on June 14th, 1962 in Nashville, TN.

Even at a young age Vivan’s big personality was seen in everything she did. She demanded the best of everyone and gave everyone the best of her. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1980 and went on to graduate from Tusculum College in Greenville, Tennessee with an Accounting degree. In June 2024, she retired as a Business Lead with 32 years as a civil servant with the Department of Defense. In July 2022, she received her Evangelist Missionary license in the Church of God of Christ. Vivian had a passion for the Lord, family, and fashion.

Vivian was proceeded in death by her parents; brothers, Anthony LeDon Crockett and Eddie Rocerious Crockett; and sister; Gloria Denise Crockett-Stem.

Vivian is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Torrell Smarr; two daughters, TaMetria LaNese (Michael) and Rochelle Nicole and two granddaughters, LaNese Nicole and Michelle Joy, of San Diego, CA. Sisters, Dorthy Marie Stem, Nashville, TN, Carol Allen, Knoxville, TN, LaFreda (Raymond) Cole, Jackson, TN, Lisa (Connell) Sherrill, Barstow, CA and Bonita Cummings, Killeen, TX; foster sisters, Harriet Webster, Albany, NY and Vell Hayes-Lyles, Baltimore, MD; brothers, Walter Jr., Knoxville, TN, William Sr. (Claudia), Joe (Delois), Johnny Ray (Patricia), Arthur Paul (Carol), all of Nashville, TN, Roderick Devise Crockett, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces; great nephews; aunts; uncles; devoted friend, Missionary Michelle Timmons, Coatesville, PA; many friends and members of the church.

Visitation with the family Friday, October 11, 2024, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., with homegoing celebration to follow at Barstow Church of God in Christ, 1375 Bishop Nathaniel Jones Jr. Way, Barstow. Interment services will be at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside, CA 92518.

A committal service will occur Friday, October 11, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.
