Juaquin Lorenzo Gutierrez

He was born in Bosque, New Mexico, to Abram and Gregoria Gutierrez on June 18, 1935. He graduated from Barstow High School in 1954, then Jack joined the United States Air Force. After serving in the Air Force, he came back to Barstow and married Rose Chavez. They had four children together; Juaquin Jr., Lisa, Matthew, and Denise. He worked at the Marine Base, Ft. Irwin, and as a custodian for Barstow Unified School District at Henderson Elementary School.

Jack was deeply devoted to the Catholic faith. He served as a Eucharistic Minister, Sacristan, Usher, and Altar Server. He was known for taking communion to many people that were homebound. He enjoyed spending time and playing with his two granddaughters, Abigail and Alexandria.

Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rosary will be on Monday, August 13, 2018, at 7:00 p.m.; with visitation at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park in Barstow. Following the graveside service, please join the family at Noonan Hall for a reception.
