Jean Elizabeth Schmittle went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 13, 2024 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was 55 years old. Jean was born on June 20, 1969 to Calvin and Pauline Smithson in Barstow, CA.
Jean is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Mathias and Minnie Feit, paternal grandparents Albert Smithson and Berlie Carrillo, father Calvin E. Smithson Sr. and grandson Benjamin Schmittle.
Jean is survived by her mother Pauline Smithson, husband Michael Dale Schmittle, sons Kevin and Kristopher Mintun stepsons James, Eric, Zac and Dan Schmittle and grandson Sloan Schmittle. Father in law Harry (Janet) Schmittle, mother in law Linda Schmittle,
Brother Douglas (Susie) Smithson, sister Gail (Robert) Essary, sister Brenda (P.D.) Welch, sister Cynthia (David) Bittikofer, twin brother Dean Smithson, sister Kimberly (Rusty) Carter, brother Calvin Smithson Jr (Shu-Ching), and brother Kenny Smithson, and many aunts uncles cousins nieces and nephews. Jean was family to everyone that knew her.
Jean worked at Daggett Airport as a logistics specialist for Army Aviation for 37 years.
Jean excelled in sports. She was an all star pitcher. She loved Cornhole, bowling, playing Yahtzee with mom, spending time with family, cruises, and gambling.
Jean attended Silver Valley Baptist Church in Yermo,CA. Her favorite scripture was Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. "
Services will be held Saturday, December 7 at 10 am at Silver Valley Baptist Church 520 Yermo Road, Yermo, CA 92398 immediately followed by celebration of life at the Yermo Community Center.
