Charlotte Phillips

December 30, 1925- April 12, 2023 Long-time Apple Valley resident Charlotte Downard Phillips passed away at the age of 97.

Predeceased by her husband James Clayton Phillips, her parents Josephine & Fred Downard and her brothers Art & Ralph Downard.

Charlotte is survived by her children Ann Balsterholt her husband Werner, Mary Jane Phillips and James Downard Phillips his wife Rebecca, Grandchildren Angie Ertz her husband Kevin, James W. Balsterholt his wife Melinda, James A. Phillips his wife Ciera, Robert Clayton Phillips his wife Shelby and Great Grandchildren Abby Ertz, Dillion Ertz, James David Phillips and Charlotte Mary Phillips. Charlotte also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was a vital part of her community and was involved with the San Bernardino County Fair Board, St. Marys Hospital, Our Lady of the Desert Church and the Apple Valley Country Club. She owned and operated Century 21 Fairway Realty contributing to the growth of the Victor Valley selling homes and developing the careers of her associates.

Family and friends will gather for a rosary, mass and celebration of a life well lived on May 8, 2023 starting at 10:30 at Our Lady of the Desert Church in Apple Valley. You may honor Charlotte by making a donation to the Victor Valley College Charlotte Phillips Scholarship Fund.
