Arthur - Ramirez

He was born on January 15, 1943, in Barstow, CA to Donato and Augustina Ramirez. After graduating from Barstow High School, he worked in civil service at the Marine Base as a painter for 31 years.

He married the love of his life, Rita, in 1969 and created a life together in Barstow, close to family, and raised their three boys.

Arthur was a devoted husband, loving father, and beloved friend. He had a kind heart and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He would often be found working outside whether it be taking care of his animals, doing tractor work, or simply listening to music on his boombox. He was a homebody in that he found much joy by being close to home with his family, friends, and animals.

He is survived by his wife, Rita; his children, Arthur (Denise), Brian (Tiffany), and Leroy (Jennifer); his brothers, Donato and George; his sisters, Mary Ellen, Hortencia, Genevieve, Lou, and Jennie; his many nephews and nieces; and his 5 beautiful grandchildren, Arthur, Aaron, Hannah, Noah and Tyler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donato and Augustina; his brothers, Salvador, Felix, John, Tommy and Andrew; his sisters, Katherine and Charlotte.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 3, 2024 at St. Joseph Church in Barstow, CA. A Rosary will start at 9:00 AM and Mass will start at 10:00 AM. The burial will be at Barstow Cemetery followed by a reception at Noonan Hall.
