Stuart Samuel Adams, loving husband of Beverley Rose Adams (Sibbett) and loving father of three children, Richard Stuart Adams, Stuart Lawrence Adams and Sherri Lynn Adams passed away peacefully in Barrhead, Alberta on February 3rd., 2023 at the age of 83. He was also the loving grandfather of six grandchildren, Samantha, Brittani, Stuart (P.J), Joshua, Stephanie, Krystal and the loving great grandfather of five great grandchildren, Cori, Laura, Audrey, Max and Everett.
Stuart came from a large family of 7 brothers and 5 sisters. He was predeceased by his parents, Everett and Sarah, his brothers Lawrence, Ross, Ken, Jack, Gord, Everett, Don, Murray, his sisters, Dorothy, Marjorie, Lynda and Pat and his son, Richard. His sister Joan, is currently living in Ajax, Ontario.
As one of the youngest children in his family, Stuart and his brother Gordy spent a lot of time together, doing a lot of the family chores and looking for and finding trouble; as his father was often away to war. Stuart rarely talked much about his mother, but often mentioned how he thought of his older sister, Marjorie, as a second mother.
As a father, Stuart never stopped caring for and providing for his children. He liked sharing his life stories and experiences with them and others. Stuart enjoyed spending time with his children; browsing through flea markets, searching for hidden treasures in second hand stores and even raising his hand, occasionally, while attending auction sales. He also spent time fishing, hunting and travelling with them. His love for his children was unconditional.
As an uncle, it would be easy to boast about how much he was loved by all his nieces and nephews, but he would not want us to boast as Stuart was a very modest and humble person, who just loved being there for others. Although, everyone knows that he had nieces and nephews that would pleasantly argue that they were Uncle Stu’s favourite.
As a grandfather and great-grandfather, he spent as much time as possible with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, however, near the end of his life, both distance and health issues made it difficult for him to spend as much time with them as he had hoped. All of his grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss him a lot.
As a husband, from the day they made their vows together, to the day he passed away, he expressed his love for Beverley, often sending her flowers, as he knew how much she loves flowers. He also loved snuggling with her, holding her hand and seeing her smile. They were married for over 63 years. WOW.
