Duane was born in Doris, Alberta. When he was 13yrs old he went to Nanton Ab to become a ranch hand. He then began his career of Heavy-Duty Equipment Operator in BC and Alberta areas. When he started his young family in 1960, he purchased the home quarter from his dad where he ran a Dairy farm and began his love of horses. Duane loved: his family and friends, dancing, hunting, fishing, being outdoors, playing crib and most of all breaking as many rules as he possibly could get away with!!
He was a generous neighbor and community minded man. We will miss his sense of humor, his low, deep chuckle, his life stories of all of the places he worked and lived. Left to grieve are: His Children: Glen (Jo)Mitchell, Kim (Tim) Messmer, Deb (Clayton) Brandvold. His Grandchildren: David (Nadia) Mitchell, Robyn (Sean) Lepine, Melissa Messmer (Jeff), Sheena (Ben) Pike and Savannah Brandvold (Nick). His Great Grandchildren: Abbigail, William and Emma Lepine, Brooklynn and Alora Pike, Colton Brandvold. Also surviving Duane is his Special Friend: Lorraine along with numerous nieces, nephew and friends. His people who have gone before him are: His parents and 6 siblings, Mother of his Children: Peggy Mitchell and Grandson: Brandon Messmer. Celebration of Life to be held at a later day for information contact 780-674-2881.
