Shawn Caleb Smith

Shawn Caleb Smith age 17 of Flat Lick, KY departed this life on Saturday, May 3, 2014 due to an automobile accident. He was the son of Shawn Nelson Smith and Shannon (Wombles) Harkins. He was born in Knox Co. on June 6, 1996.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles “CB” Wombles, his great grandparents, Nathaniel Mills , Chris C. Smith, Ethel Hobbs, Virgil Hobbs and an aunt Christy Martin.

Survivors include his father Shawn Nelson Smith and wife Crystal of Bimble, KY and his mother, Shannon Nicole Wombles Harkins and husband Ray of Flat Lick, KY one son, Brayden Isaiah Trey Smith of Knox Co, one brother, Matthew Tyler Smith of Flat Lick, his grandparents, Barbara Wombles of Himyar, Harold Gene & Debra Smith of Bimble, and great grandmothers Dora Smith & Mary H. Mills of Bimble, two uncles, Nathan and Mary Lee Smith of Ft. Mitchell, KY and Charles Wombles, II of Flat Lick, KY, a special aunt Sheila Mills of Frankfort, KY, two step sisters, Destiny Rae Philpot and Kimberly Danielle Philpot both of Flat Lick. Shawn also leaves behind a host of many other cousins, relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Shawn Caleb Smith will be conducted on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Rick Partin and Rev. Don Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Austin Woolum, Westin Hensley, Dillon Bargo, Josh Collins, Kasey Mills, Dalton Hammons, Bradley Smith, J.J. Smith, Eric Smith and Terry Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be, Matthew Smith, Eric Gibson, Leonard Philpot, Nathan Smith and Conner Martin. Shawn will be laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick, KY. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
