I met Shirley at Stella Maris.  There was not a day I visited that she was not wearing a smile.  She was a good friend to my mother and me.  She had a great disposition.  Heaven is receiving a beautiful woman and angel from earth!  God bless her.  Kathy Rescigno

I grew up with Shirley in the Remington neighborhood. We were the same age and we played together as children. I can remember walking to school holding hands, she was such a good friend.    As the years went by,  we stayed in touch. Being a military wife and away from Baltimore, we continued to call and write one another. Shirley was always by my side. She was one of the nicest people I have ever known. I will miss her so much but she is home with her loved ones. Goodbye most gracious lady, we will meet again…Love, Juanita (Naylor) Birtel

RIP Aunt Shirley- you were a wonderful person and you will be missed. I will always remember sitting in your kitchen eating hot milk cake. I have so many childhood memories.

Thoughts and prayers to beloved Mrs. Shirley's  family and friends.  She lived a life as a true example of God's love. Her smiles, gentle nature and words of encouragement shared with all the lives that crossed her path was an inspiration.  Faithfilully returned home, rest in peace kind soul.

All I can say is heaven gained another angel for Ms. Shirley was an angel here on earth. I met Ms. Shirley at Stella Maris when my mother was seated at Ms Shirley’s table in the dining hall in 2016. All the lovely ladies (aka The Golden Girls) at that table welcomed my mother (and me) with open arms and open hearts.  She was a bright light in the darkest of times. I will miss her smile and sweet voice but know she is reunited with her family and friends in heaven.  Rest in peace Ms. Shirley.

What a wonderful lady in my life as I grew up in Remington. Ms. Shirley, Ms.  Gussie, Ms. Mary, Ms. Mae, Ms. Jean, Ms. Dawn and My Mom. I am very honored to have all these ladies contributing to my upbringing. THANK YOU! Ms. Shirley always had her front porch ready for those evenings in the Spring & Summer nights to share events of our day and gossip about the Remington Bernarder's. Ms. Shirley's heart was SO BIG! She loved the critters. She fed all the stray kitties and when there was a doggy in need she was there. I am rejoicing today that she has finally got the opportunity to see Sharon and Mr. Gary again. I know in my heart there is rejoicing in heaven for her to be reunited with Aunt Carol & Aunt Juanita. The 3 of them grew up together and shared their most inner secrets.  Rest in Peace Ms. Shirley you deserve this rest after being a strong, hardworking and overall beautiful soul!
My love to all who cared for her thru the years especially Paulette, Kenny, Carolyn and Paul. I'm sure there were others who cared for her that I can't remember all their names.
