Charles Franklin Haugh Jr.

Faith, family, and generosity are the first words that come to mind, when we think of our father, Charles Franklin Haugh, Jr. He was born on December 27, 1925, to parents Charles Franklin Haugh Sr., and Ruth Pearl Haugh (nee Allport) and grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He was raised with his two half-brothers, Robert Parker and Oscar Parker and siblings Ruth Howard and Thomas Haugh. Like many families of that time, they suffered through extreme financial difficulty. As our father often said; there was always an abundance of love. He told stories of his childhood with such fondness and never complained of the difficult times that his family faced. His admiration and respect for his parents were everlasting.

He was married to Gene Adams Haugh for 67 years, prior to her death on October 10, 2012. Together they raised four children; Kimberly Sue Haugh, Charles Franklin Haugh, III (Chip), Drew Maine Haugh and Kara Beth McNulty. He considered his daughter-in-laws, Jean Haugh and Laurie Haugh, as well as his son-in-law Kevin McNulty to be part of his own family and he loved them dearly. Ten grandchildren followed and it was not unusual to have any number of them for overnights, family dinners, etc. In addition, he was blessed with 10 great-grandchildren, who were so very special to him. Nothing gave him more pleasure than time with his family.

He was a veteran of the Air Force and was proud to have served his country. After his military service, he went on to establish a successful career that eventually led him into the commercial real estate business. As a poor boy, he did not have the luxury of a college education and relied on his natural intelligence and fierce work ethic to build his legacy. He sacrificed a great deal and overcame so very many obstacles to provide for his family and never complained. He always remained humble despite his success. His extreme generosity will be remembered by all that had the honor to know him.

He was a devout Christian and a true representative of what it means to live life as a "Man of God". His faith was the basis of how he lived his life and no matter what it never wavered. Charles Franklin Haugh, Jr. was one of a kind and we know he has gone on to a better place. He will be so greatly missed, but his love will live on in the hearts of all that knew him.

A funeral service for Charles will be held Friday, April 28, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Burgee-Henss-Seitz Funeral Home Inc., 3631, Falls Road, Baltimore, MD 21211, followed by a graveside service at Lorraine Park Cemetery, 5608 Dogwood Rd, Baltimore, MD 21207. Please note, Service is for close friends and family.
