She is the devoted wife of the late Jack C. Pennington, beloved mother of James Frank Pennington and the late Jack “ Tim” Pennington; devoted mother-in-law of Dee Pennington; stepmother of Nancee Wallace and her husband Clifton; cherished Mee Maw of 5 and great grandmother of 2; sister of the late Frank Smith, Harold Smith, Gene Smith, and Hen Smith; dear aunt of Nancy Smith and Judy Chalk and her husband Kenn. She is also survived by numerous other loving family and friends.
Betty was an active member of her community. She is a devoted member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church on Roland Avenue. She enjoyed going on various trips, and social events through the club Wednesday's Choice Senior Club where she was an active member for several years. In her younger years, Betty enjoyed crocheting and bowling duckpins.
Above all, Betty loved shopping, especially going to the grocery store. Her trips often took over two hours. This was not only because she went down each aisle, but the new friends and conversations she would have. This was truly one of her favorite things to do.
Betty is loved by many, many loving family and friends. She will deeply be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Burgee Henss Seitz Funeral Home, Inc., 3631 Falls Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21211 on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm where funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 10 am. Interment Lorraine Park Cemetery.
