Known for his thoughtful nature, William touched many lives and will be deeply missed. Despite his occasional stubbornness and challenging demeanor, his spirited personality endeared him to many.
Born in Korea, William immigrated to the United States to seek opportunities and build a happy life for his wife and children. He worked as an electrician for the Los Angeles Unified School District before retiring to the mountain community of Frazier Park with his wife. There, he enjoyed walking in the fresh air, loved driving around on his John Deere, became active in the Amateur Radio community, worked with the California State Parks and Recreation at Hungry Valley, and volunteered with the VIP Program at LAX. He also delivered Meals on Wheels and donated through the utility company to ensure people had access to electricity.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Yong Cha Chu, eight years ago. He is survived by his son and daughter.
A private graveside service for William will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest, located at 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
