Velma Dean Weese

Velma Dean Weese born in Bakersfield, California to George and Lucille Holder who preceded her in death along with husband Charles Weese, her brothers Albert, Dale, and George. Son’s Charles Weese Jr and Stephen Weese. Granddaughter Amanda and grandson Sean.

Velma worked in the field’s growing up and then worked as a waitress while raising her three boys. She married Charles Weese on March 26,1964 they were together 53 years until his passing in 2017 he was the love of her life.

Velma is survived by her son’s Bryant (Christie) Holder of Bakersfield, Craig (Mary) Gardner of Ukiah, Mark (Karen) Gardner of Bakersfield and daughter Robin Weese Mehrwald (Oliver) of Round Rock, Texas. Velma has 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Velma enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling in their motor home. She also enjoyed needlepoint, quilting, and cooking big meals for family and friends. She was well known for her peach cobbler. She had many lifelong friends that she still talked to often she talked about regaining her mobility up until the end. Velma loved her family and friends dearly you were blessed if she was in your life. A special thanks to Hailey, Tiffany and Kayla at Summit hills for the great care and friendship she loved you all.

A graveside service for Velma will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
