Sylvia Ann Simmons

Sylvia lived in Bakersfield until November, 2018. At this time she embarked on a life long dream of traveling in an RV. She had completed her other dream of child care. In this career she took care of over 150 children during a span of 40 years.

Sylvia was a beautiful soul who was loved by many. She was known for being funny and quick witted. She loved wearing bright colored ensembles. She could always be picked in a crowd.

Sylvia is survived by her sisters Yvonne Munoz {Pasqual}, Elaine Diaz ( Frank) and brothers Glen Simmons (Sue) and James Simmons (Cindy)

One sister deceased Peggy Newcombe (Robert). She had 3 Godchildren who she adored Rene Acosta, Sabrina Bradford and Izaiah Hunt. She also had numerous nieces and nephews. Sylvia also leaves her life long friend and partner Peggy Caballero.

A memorial service for Sylvia will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
