Margaret Vanderveer-Goodwin was born and raised on a dairy farm in Temple, Texas and moved to Kern County as a teenager. She valued the simple, free and inexpensive things in life, and was known to stop abruptly for yard sales. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a collector of treasures that three storage sheds couldn't hold.
Margaret enjoyed traveling, reading, watching her favorite soap operas and listening to wind chimes. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she would sing Christmas carols all year long. Margaret's greatest joy in life was her family. She was kind and generous and loved helping those in need and had a heart for animals. Margaret and her best friend, Maryann, enjoyed many adventures together.
Margaret went to the garden to be with Jesus after a long history of heart complications. Preceded in death by husband Bill, and sons Thor and Michael. She is survived by her daughters Annette and husband Pete, Christine and husband Mike, Shelly and husband Josh. Her sons Chuck and wife Cammy, and Bobby and wife Kelly. Grandkids: Daniel, John, Hannah, Tabitha, Lacey, Jasmin, Shane, Anastasia, McCaulay, Jackson, Thomas. Great grandchildren: Raven, Jayden, Austin, Kody, Talon, Becky, Camryn, Liam, Logan, William.
