Our Beloved Lucio Sanchez passed away on May 12, 2023 and is resting with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He was born on August 3, 1949 to Guadalupe and Francisca Sanchez.

He graduated from East High school, Bakersfield College, then served in the United States Air Force. At BC where he cofounded the MECHA club and served as the first MECHA president. Lucio also graduated from Cal State Bakersfield. He retired from California Men’s Colony as a Sergeant in San Luis Obisbo.

He met the Love of his life Marie in August of 1969, they married in November 27, 1971. They were Blessed to celebrate 52 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife Marie, son Joseph (Sonia), grandsons Joseph, Dean (Christine) McDermott, sibling Felix (Becky), Mary, Robert (Maryann), Estela, Eva (David), Pete (Nancy), Lupe (Gilbert), Alice (Raul), Gracie (Martin), and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son Chuy, parents; Guadalupe and Francisca Sanchez, sister; Guadalupe, brothers; Angel, Joe, and Roy.

Services at Sacred Heart Church on May 26, 2023, Viewing at 9:30am, Rosary at 10:15am, Mass at 11:00am, Burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
