March 29, 1987 - December 26, 2021
Justin, also known as Patience, born in Bakersfield, California, passed on the morning following the birth of our Christ, on December 26, 2021 surrounded by his family. He attended Heritage Academy, Ronald Reagan, Earl Warren, and Stockdale High School where he served as the Mustang’s Marching Band trumpet section leader, studied architectural design and fell in love with writing. He was also involved in Cross Country and Track.
He studied pre-engineering at CSUB. He served as a youth minister at Saint Philip Catholic Church where he participated in World Youth Day, traveled to the Vatican and undertook a quest with others to journey through concentration camps in Germany. He did apprenticeships with both AC Electric and Klassen Corporation and worked with Larry Koman Homes and ACS Loans.
Justin was incredibly intelligent, generous and creative. He was an exceptional light show artist (glover), sponsored by many, and also excelled at gaming. His generosity had no end, always contributing to children fundraisers and events Justin’s greatest passions were his dear friendships, writing, and playing trumpet with The Secret Sauce.
Friends describe him as kind, unselfish, and having touched so many lives by creating a welcoming community of peace for those around him. He often challenged his friends to believe in themselves and stand up for their values. He encouraged friends and family to excel and continuously supported those around him with kind words, humor, and love. Those who knew him well describe him as full of life, promise and a genuine gentle and friendly disposition.
Justin was an active member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity and while attending CSU Bakersfield, he was responsible for protocol and to teaching respectful manners to young people so they can go out into society and thrive.
He adored the laughter of family, friends and children. He loved animals, bringing home to his parents two beautiful Akitas named Nala and Kioshi. Nala passed away two weeks prior to Justin.
Justin had a tender love for his brother Evan Michael Quiñones Vaughan, who resides in San Francisco, his father Patrick Lee Vaughan and mother Linda Quiñones-Vaughan who both reside in Bakersfield.
