The Lord has chosen his farmer to tend the grapes of Heaven, Jose (Pepe) Nieves Carreon. During his life Jose lived with the spirit and joy that he spread to his family and the world over. Jose produced top rated grapes on the diamond list and provided food to all four corners of the globe. Jose experienced the ancient mysteries of the Egyptian pyramids, floated down the romantic canals of Venice, witnessed the marvel of the Roman Coliseum and Vatican, took in the Great Barrier Reef of Australia, relaxed in Amsterdam, and set his watch to Big Ben in London. Jose, loving husband, father, brother and son is survived by his wife Marlene Medina, son Michael Coronado Carreon, parents Anastacio and Sara Carreon, brothers, Pedro Villalobos and wife Irene, Rene Carreon and wife Rae, sisters Sarah Hernandez and husband Miguel, Tania Mireles and Husband Sal, Lina Baker and Husband Albert, nephew Matthew Valdez, and mother in law Ruby Garcia, and his cat Goldie as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Jose known by his nephew Jason Mireles, and nieces Kylee Carreon, Alina Baker, and Blanca Baker as Tio Pepe was more than an uncle; he was a symbol of family and loyalty that always made them smile. Jose was a local graduate of Arvin High School class of 1983 and graduated from Porterville College in 1985 with an Associate of the Arts degree, he then attended Watterson College for Micro Computer Accounting in 1986. Jose's father Anastacio Carreon founded a farm labor contracting business in 1965 in hopes that his children would one day manage and assume ownership. Jose began working for his father at the age of nine and by age 39 successfully managed the family's largest grape producing ranch San Emidio that encompassed over 600 acres of grapes to be sold around the world.
