One day this guy meets a girl. The attraction is instantaneous. 

After three weeks of dating, this girl invites him to a family gathering. Where he meets the girl’s family and parents for the first time. He clicks with the whole family. 

While falling in love, they start planning a future together. All the while this girl‘s Mom is becoming a beacon of light for the both of them. Soon the guy & this girl marry. He develops a bond with her family. They welcome him with open arms. As time went on they accomplished a lot. Fulfilled each other’s dreams. All the while the girl’s mother watched with great pride. 

Then in one year this guy loses both of his parents. His mother-in-law stepped in and shed light, where there was death. She provides her daughter and son-in-law with a guiding light. She became the one constant they could count on. This couple began to help fulfill some of the mother’s dreams. Helping her to do some of the things she always wanted. 

Then one day, a brief darkness covered their lives. This girl’s Mother became ill. In true character, she was never flinched, she continued to smile, as if she knew something no one else did. Even in pain, she shined. 

Then yesterday the beacon of light dimmed. The Lord called her Mother home. She passed away quietly in her sleep, as if to illustrate that “my work is done here. You will all be alright.”

She never asked for much. She was always willing to help others in need. She was honest, trusting, loving, and ALWAYS had a smile on her face. She offered blunt advice when necessary, which was always funny. She loved each of her daughters and her husband. She cherished her grandchildren. She was the cornerstone of their family. 

The Mother in this story was my Mother-in-law. Although her light dimmed, her light will shine on forever, thru all  those she touched. I loved her almost as much as my own Mother. I for one not only lost my Mother-in-law, but also a friend.

Dear Family of Marilyn,

I am so sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing.  I have fond memories of family gatherings and weddings with your branch of the McGuirk clan -- always such a good time.  

May she rest in peace in the arms of Our Lord.  Please be assured of my prayers for her and for you all.  With love,

I always remember the excitement that you would show, when you visited us. From the times you would lend an ear to making a total stranger feel welcome. Many saw you as shy. For those of us who really saw you, we felt your compassion & love of life. We miss you more than you know.....

We Love ❤️ and miss you 😘 already. Rest In Peace.  Heaven has a new 😇angel.  It’s hard to pinpoint just one fond memory since there have been so many!
