Randy was born to Italian immigrants, Anthony & Rosaria Randazzo, on December 19, 1932 in Queens. He was a hero to so many, devoting his life to the service of others— a Korean War veteran, a Suffolk County Police Department detective for 20 years, a North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company Firefighter and EMT for over 55 years, and a long-time volunteer at his local soup kitchen. Most importantly, however, Randy was a hero to his family whom he loved so dearly-- his late wife and the love of his life, Elaine; his three children, Charlene Faro, Anthony Randazzo and Debra Dadgari; his four granddaughters, Catherine Faro, Jessica Steinberg, Christina Ludgate and Sarah Halpin; and his great-granddaughter, named in honor of the incredible man he was, Olivia Rand Ludgate.
Nothing brought Randy more joy than spending quality time with those he loved—traveling the world hand-in-hand with his wife, tending to his garden beside his children, having tea with his granddaughters, manning the grill and cracking jokes with his friends, or taking an afternoon nap with a pet. A truly generous and humble man, there was never an ask too big nor a creature too small for his help. Known for his fierce loyalty, his thoughtfulness and his unwavering sense of humor, Randy’s memory will be cherished forever.
