My Uncle Desmond was a good father, husband, and excellent provider, My mother's brother was a loving uncle.
Uncle Desmond, 
It is with most heartfelt sorrow and sadness that I write this tribute to you. You were a one in a million; humble, kind, loving, caring with a good heart and soul!
You affected many lives with your selflessness and numerous acts of kindness, always giving and never expecting any favors in return. Your dedication to a cause was what set you apart. For every institution you worked for, you laid the path for others to succeed.
The benefit of your hard work is a living testimony for so many young men and women you took under your wing at a personal and professional level.
Uncle, you were and will always be an inspiration to me, the whole family, and anyone who worked with you. You left a void in the family that will never be filled.
While we mourn today, we also take comfort that your mission on earth has is now fulfilled. We thank the Lord for your life and bid you goodbye until we meet again.

My Dearest Brother 
You have been a caring husband to your loving wife. You have guided and loved your kids and grandkids. And everyone that has had you as a friend know how great you were.
Mom and Dad were always proud of their only son. As your oldest sibling I was very proud of all your accomplishments. After serving in The United States Army with a Honorary Discharge.
You went on to attain a Masters Degree.
But you never forgot your origin Beautiful Jamaica.  America was good to us all.
God Bless America. I will miss you but I know one day we  will meet again. Dada and Mama is watching and waiting. Until we meet again my dear brother go home in comfort.

Desmond was vital and valiant.   Inspite of his illness, he lived a rich and full life. 
He was a professional, husband, father and grandfather.  Inspite of his illness, he was fully engaged in each of these roles.  His life is certainly a great inspiration!

I have lost the best brother one could ever have.  Not only was he my brother but a good friend.  Desmond was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back.

Desmond was so family oriented and always put his family first.

He battled that horrific disease for so long. So proud of him but it was time for him to go. No more pain. He really is going to be missed.

Until we meet again.  Loving you always and forever.

My connection with Desmond is through Suzanne and as long as they have been married I am an extension to their home and families. 
Desmond never hesitated to invite me to New York for an event or holidays. 
After several invites I decided  Thanksgiving 2020 would not passed without spending with Desmond and the family, not sure how many other invitations I would get from Desmond. Thanksgiving 2020 was very memorable knowing I got that opportunity to break bread with Desmond not for the last time but for that holiday. 

Desmond was a great and wonderful role model and exceptional human being and I'm sure we will always cherish his memories.  Very kind  and considerate he loved and care immensely for his families. 
It sad to see him go and he will be missed, however he's no longer in pain and hope to meet him someday on the other side.
Desmond your work on earth has ended sleep in eternal peace.

  after being sick for awhile;  I think  - the only good thing about
  sickness is, that it prepares the family for their loved ones death.
