Abelardo Diaz

Abelardo Diaz, 89 of St. Petersburg, Fl. and Copiague, NY, [passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022]. Abelardo was born in Choco, Colombia. He emigrated to the US in 1972 where as an entrepreneur, established a successful Jewelry store that afforded his three children a college education.

Beloved husband of Oliva Diaz for over 64 years. Cherished father of Hedy Gomez, Carmen Maquilon (Segi), and Gustavo Diaz (Michelle). A loving grandfather who sacrificed for his family, Abelardo’s legacy will live through his three grandchildren Michael, Zachary and Alexandra.

Family and friends may visit at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home on Tuesday September 6, 2022. Visiting hours are 2:00-4:30pm and 7:00-9:30pm. Family will be gathering at the funeral home Wednesday morning at 9:00am. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00am. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s RC church on Wednesday September 7, 2022 at 10:30 am.
