Our Lord accepted one more angel into His arms Friday, May 8, 2009. William Thomas "Bill" Morgan III, aged 85, quipped that he "got to Texas as quickly as he could" and married the love of his life, Margaret Elizabeth Stewart. At the age of 18, he became a bombardier and navigator in the 306th Squadron of the Mighty Eighth Air Force serving in the European theater of WWII. The 306th was the "first over Germany." He was heavily decorated, including two purple hearts. His greatest passion was his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret, and his three children: Larry Glenn Morgan (Carole), Margaret Morgan McQuiston (Bobby), Laura French Taylor (Frank), five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren with a third on the way! He is also survived by his sister, Romayne Seibert. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd A. and Arline Hughes Morgan of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He established Morgan Construction Company in the early 1950's and helped develop Rollingwood and Westwood. He was an entrepreneur and a loving rascal. "With God there are no endings, only endless beginnings." Psalm 30:5 Visitation is Sunday, May 10, from 5-7 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, North Lamar location. A memorial service is Monday, May 11th at 1:00 p.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, with Reverend Stephen Youngdahl officiating. Our family thanks the staff of The Plaza Querencia and Maura Irby of Texas Home Health Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
