He served in the U.S. Navy for eight years, followed by 12 years in the U.S. Air Force. William was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
His family was important to him and he will be missed more than we can say.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Coffman; son, Gary Coffman; daughters, Shirley Peek and husband, Rob, and Barbara Scharein and husband, Gus; grandchildren, Sean Bosenbark and wife, Angela, Joshua Peek and wife, Stephanie, Christopher Peek and Billy Peek; great-grandsons, Russell, Geoffrey and Brendon.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Dr. William B. Knippa officiating. Entombment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park Mausoleum with military honors under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force.
