William “Bill” Henry Bertram, age 70, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Sunday, April 3, 2022. He was a native Austinite, born on October 27, 1951, to Edward Henry Bertram and Annalee Youngblood Bertram.
Bill worked as a commercial electrician for the City of Austin. He also enjoyed playing drums with local country bands in and around Austin.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Leslie Wright Bertram; son Travis and wife Kourtnie; son Trent and wife Michelle; his precious grandchildren: Shelby, Avery, Harley, Presley, Reese, Kody, and wife Paula, Kaelynn and partner Justin, and Mason. He is also survived by his sister Mildred Sedwick, brother Edward Bertram, sister Ruby Furr and husband Lory.
He is preceded in death by his parents Edward Henry Bertram and Annalee Youngblood Bertram, his twin brother Walter Harold Bertram and his brother-in-law Jack Sedwick.
Bill’s family would like to say a special thanks to Halcyon Home Care and Nurse Jennifer R., the Seton Hays Hospital doctors and nursing staff, and the Fresenius Dialysis units in Kyle and Austin, Texas. Also, thank you to Robert Wright, his brother-in-law for all his help and support; as well as to Eddie Bertram for singing Bill's favorite song at the graveside service.
A visitation for William will be held Friday, April 8, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749, followed by a graveside service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
