Vivian Lewis

Vivian Antoinette Taylor Lewis, 86, went to be with the Lord on August 27th, 2010 in Roanoke, Virginia. Daughter of Beal and Martha Taylor, born and raised in the Hill Country of Texas (Honey Creek, Hunt, Mathis, Sabinal, and Medina). She resided in Austin, TX for more than 55 years. More recently, she was living in Roanoke, VA with her daughter and husband. She was a member of West Austin Baptist Church, later named Park Hills Baptist Church, for 62 years. Vivian gave her life to Jesus at the age of 13 and served the Lord with gladness. She was a devoted mother who dearly loved her family. She cared for her neighbors and fellow church members all her life. Vivian was a very gentle and humble soul who sought out people to serve, yet never wanted any recognition. She will be dearly missed. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband O.T. (Buddy) Lewis (married for 53 years); sisters, Florine Williams, Loretta Hund, and Virginia (Deenie) Taylor. Surviving Vivian is her sister, Oneida Gallant and husband James A of Medina, TX; daughters, Teresa Eckert and husband Larry of Quinlan, TX and Nancy Owens and husband Jay of Roanoke, VA.; grandson, Brian Eckert of Rowlett, TX; granddaughters, Kim Harris and husband Chris of Vine Grove, KY, Jana Owens of Red Hill, England, Caree Lookabill and husband David of Louisville, KY and Loree Clauss and husband Brad of Roanoke, VA, and many nieces and nephews. The family cordially invites you to a visitation starting at six o’clock in the afternoon until half past eight o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, 1st of September at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. Austin, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at three o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, 2nd of September at Park Hills Baptist Church, 2500 Bee Caves Road. Graveside Services will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, Pflugerville, Texas. Officiating services will be Dr. Jay D. Owens.
