Valerie grew up in Norwalk, California. She became a teacher of math, physics and chemistry, with a BA from Boise State and Masters in Physics from SDSU. She raised her sons in Idaho, South Dakota, El Paso TX, Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, and San Antonio TX, She continued her career at Anderson High School in Austin TX after marrying David Kingsley Clark in 1997 and became a member of Bethany United Methodist Church while living in Cedar Park.
Valerie loved her family, gardening, astronomy, geology, history, music, hiking, and traveling to National Parks. She was also a Master Gardener, Master Naturalist, and GIA Graduate Gemologist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Thomas Kinnamon, and two sisters Donna and Vivian.
She is survived by her husband David and children Daniel (Debi) Kinnamon of Plainfield IN, Eric (Gaby) Kinnamon of Vermillion, SD, and Patrick Kinnamon (Cristina) of San Antonio, TX. Grandchildren Victoria, Brock, Dolores, and Antonia.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Saturday January 7 at Bethany United Methodist Church (in the Cornerstone Sanctuary) in Austin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Association.
A graveside service will be held at Mission Funeral Park-South in San Antonio approx. Jan 14th.
