T.O. Murphey, Jr was born on May 16, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas, to Thomas Oran Murphey and Billie Bob Jones Murphey. He died on December 5th, 2009. "Tonky," as he was called by friends and family, graduated from Lubbock High School and attended the University of Texas where he played football and earned a degree in business administration. He stayed in Austin and became a real estate investor and developer, but he will mainly be remembered for his sense of humor, larger-than-life personality, love of music, and his generosity. In fact, he was unforgettable, and he will be missed. He is survived by his two children Thomas Oran Murphey, III and Adelaide Lucille Murphey. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11th at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 3201 Windsor Road, Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
