Shane Thomas Jenkins, 38, of New Braunfels, Texas died Sunday February 5, 2023 at Seton Hospital in Austin, Texas. Shane was born September 13, 1984 in Fort Worth, Texas to Roger and Gayle Morrison Jenkins. He attended Savannah College of Art and Design and ultimately earned a Bachelor of Science degree from University of North Texas in emergency management.
Emergency management proved to be a very satisfying career for Shane, who always loved to help others whenever possible. He especially enjoyed working for FEMA for the last 5 years. Shane was best known for his kindness, acceptance and protection of others, determination, and fortitude. Shane was a dedicated family man who loved traveling with his wife and fishing with his son.
Shane suffered with a congenital heart defect that ultimately claimed his life. He endured multiple open heart surgeries and other procedures. He was truly a fighter from his first breath until his last.
Shane is survived by his wife, Karen, and his son, Charlie; parents Roger and Gayle Jenkins of Nashville, Tennessee; brother Paul Jenkins and wife Anna Spina and their children Lucy and Mina of Nashville, Tennessee. Shane was also blessed by a large extended family who loved him dearly.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Seton hospital for their compassionate and dedicated care for Shane.
A memorial service will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11am in the sanctuary of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas.
