Scott Cleveland MacLeod passed away unexpectedly on October 20, 2016. He is survived by his wife Susan; daughter Megan Keohen and her husband Shawn of Trophy Club, TX; son Matthew and his wife Tiffany of Grapevine, TX; step-daughter Elizabeth Walker and husband Benjamin of Chicago, IL; step-daughter Katherine of Troy, MI; and step-son Charles of Austin. He is also survived by his sister Michelle Molina and her husband Ramon of Round Rock, TX. Scott has three grandsons, Gavin and Dylan Keohen, William MacLeod, and niece Maria Alexandra Molina.
Born in Corpus Christi, TX on November 4, 1953 to Donald P. and Florence C. MacLeod, Scott proudly entered The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, graduating in 1975. He served as an Aviator in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves, attaining the rank of Captain, and retired in 2015. His work as a consultant in the defense industry with a focus in Cyber Security resulted in a vast network of military and civilian leaders. His career culminated with Blue Line Consulting where he served as owner and principal consultant.
His passion for travel was unparalleled and he and Susan have traveled all over the world including Europe, Asia, the South Pacific, and beyond. His interest in documenting their travels through photography led to a highly successful travel and photography blog attracting tens of thousands of followers.
Scott will be remembered as a proud fourth generation Texan, a decorated Veteran of the US Navy, an ardent UT Longhorn fan, a loving husband and father and mostly, as a wonderful ‘Poppy’ to his grandsons.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, October 24, 2016, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. There will be visitation at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, in the Smith Chapel at Riverbend Church, at 4214 N. Capital of Texas Highway, Austin, Texas; with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 A.M. in the Smith Chapel at Riverbend Church. Interment to take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
