He is survived by his three sons, Caleb Patrick, Grant Ransom, and William Curtis Johnson; his mother, Wanda Breed Johnson; his sister and brother-in-law, Bev and Raymund Kuenast; his brother and sister-in-law Clay and Suzanne Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
Rusty was proud to be a native Austinite. He graduated from Anderson High School and the University of Texas. He had a successful career in marketing at Motorola/Freescale of Austin.
Rusty was also proud of his Swedish heritage and was a lifelong member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. He was raised in the city but loved spending time with his boys at the family's Someday Ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas. He loved to visit with people and people loved him. Rusty cherished his three sons more than anything and was an excellent father.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 23, 2015, from 3:00-5:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar Boulevard. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 200 West Anderson Lane.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gethsemane Lutheran Youth Ministry.
