Rosemarie grew up in Freeport, Long Island, New York, before moving to Austin, Texas in 1949 to attend the University of Texas. In October 1952, she met the love her of life, William E. Schwarzer II in Austin Texas, & they were married on November 12, 1952.
During her adult life, Rosemarie attained five degrees including a Master's in Business Administration. For 44 years, Rosemarie was a teacher with the Austin Independent School District, mostly at Austin High School in Special Education, & she retired from AISD in May 1998. After school & at night, she also taught Typing, Shorthand, & Business Administration classes in various Austin schools.
Rosemarie was a frequent volunteer for many Austin Performing Arts groups & Theatres, including The Paramount Theatre, Zachary Scott Theatre Center, Mary Moody Northern Theatre, Capital City Playhouse, Austin Opera, the Long Center, & the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at UT.
Rosemarie was a huge animal lover & during her lifetime many dogs, cats, & even a duck became part of her life & household.
Rosemarie was preceded in death by her husband William E Schwarzer II, her son William E. Schwarzer III, her parents, & her sister Lillian M. Lucus. She is survived by her nephew Michael Lucus, niece Toni Lucus, nephew Ralph Lucus, beloved dog Colby, cousins, & many friends & acquaintances.
The family would like to thank the doctors & staff at Seton Hospital, the Pflugerville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, & Heart to Heart Hospice, for all of their care & support.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday October 3, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX 78705.
