Robin Burt went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday Nov. 23rd at 11:19 PM. She was born to Wilbert and Dru Johnson in Austin Texas on March 23rd, 1970. She is survived by her husband; two adult children; her sister, Traci; her parents and countless friends.
Robin graduated from Westwood High school in 1988 and attended Southwest Texas State University. She married Derrick Burt in 1992 and started a family shortly after. She was blessed with a son, Grant and daughter, Maddy. She worked for many years at the Texas Rehabilitation Commission before leaving to start a new career at Dell. Robin left full time work in 2011.
Family, friends, decorating and shelter dogs where her passions. She loved bring all of these together by opening up her home to celebrations, parties and impromptu get-togethers - always welcoming guests. She loved to decorate and had a flare for taking a plain room or home and making it into something special. She loved colors, bright and vibrant, full of life and energy much as she was. She had a special talent to know just where things would go and how to make things look just right. Robin had an ability to see the potential in people and in rooms, homes and spaces. She had vision and could transform a blank canvas into something really special. She had a love for her family and friends – always wanting to give. She had a passion for her dogs and was responsible for saving, caring for and loving several shelter rescues.
Robin was something special – A loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was unique, caring, thoughtful and giving beyond means. She brought light, color, cheer and love with her and made our lives better in the process.
Robin has moved on now to heaven and we can’t wait to see her again there. Imagine the joy she must have felt being reunited with her grandparents, family and friends who left us to early - all there waiting to welcome her into a place with no pain, no suffering or fear and were every tear was wiped from her eyes.
We’ll all miss Robin beyond measure, but she’d want you to be happy and not sad. Where Robin is now, there is no sadness, so let’s celebrate her and remember here warmth, compassion and love. She couldn’t stand to see anyone cry, so wipe away those tears, put on a smile and rejoice that she is now home.
